What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I am committed to help parents provide children with tools to stay safe and cope with their emotions before, during, and after a natural disaster such as a fire earthquake, hurricane, tornado etc. (or even a man-made disaster such as terrorist attacks, shootings, etc.)
Unfortunately, crisis and natural man-made disasters are the reality and part of everyone’s life and every place on Earth – in one form or another. Yet, there are no existing techniques to help empower parents and allow them to prepare their children for unforeseen events such as these. What many people may not realize is that traumatic, sudden, unexpected events can really mess with a child’s emotional well-being.
Fortunately, research has shown that effective coping skills are something that can be taught to children at a young age in order to help them face uncertainty or danger without having to bury their fears deep down and carry emotional burdens their whole lives. In fact, equipped with enough information and the right materials, adults can help children strengthen their abilities to overcome challenges.
