Right Back at You by Steve O'Grady

What have death, sleep, dreams, robots, reflections, consciousness, ghosts, superheroes, viruses, parasites, reality, illusion, infection, Heaven, stars, black holes, quantum physics and string theory got in common?

They are all fascinating phenomena which could only exist in a simulated universe.

Right Back at You examines human consciousness, showing how our human brains are immersed in simulation, because the universe is a simulation. Our contradictions as humans make us who and what we are, and the book explores how simulation is deeply connected with what we see, the way that we see it, and the consequences this has for us humans.

Targeted Age Group:: 16+ but mainly for adult reading.
Heat/Violence Level: Heat Level 1 – G Rated Clean Read

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I searched long and hard for a book which dealt exclusively with simulation and human consciousness, and I could not find one. Simulation is mentioned in science books, and there are entire chapters on simulation, but none of them go into any lengthy detail regarding the human mind. I have changed this by writing this book.

A rainbow is a so called optical illusion. You cannot touch it, or find its beginning or its end, because it is a refractive reflection. It is a Cheshire Cat wearing Jacob's coat of many colours. Yet this illusion reveals real-life secrets of life, frequencies and wavelengths, and its revelation is writ large across the sky for all to see.
A rainbow is computer code in the sky. It is the subroutines of sunshine and the classifications of colour. We have learnt much from this illusion, and that in itself is a lesson to be learned.
