About Diana Artene:
I am a certified Romanian nutritionist licensed in physical therapy – currently doing a PhD in Oncology Nutrition – plus a CISSN member of the International Society of Sports Nutrition and a member of the American Society for Nutrition. I advocate a healthy eating style, but healthy not only for the body, but also healthy for the mind.
Also I write nutrition books.
My first book, the brutally honest “5 Gears Diet” provides all the information needed to understand fat gain and fat loss, so that you can get how these mechanisms work once and for all. Reading this book is like learning again how to drive, this time not your car but your body.
In my second, more maternal book – “Nutrition Guide for Mums” – I describe:
* how to eat to enjoy a thriving, full term pregnancy;
* how to lose all the baby fat after birth;
* how to feed your child in his first year of life;
* how to prevent picky eating from as early as birth;
* how to increase your child’s immunity;
* how to prevent a myriad of diseases and conditions from tooth decay, diabetes or ADHD, to cancer, asthma attacks and aggression;
* how to cook homemade cakes;
* and how to play and bond with your children.
Because – being the mother of two beautiful and healthy children myself – I know first hand that children don’t come with a manual. Yet they come with a Mother, thus let’s educate mothers to know better how and with what to feed their children to be as healthy and as beautiful as they were born to be.
In my latest book “The Old Chocolate Diet” I describe how to eat our favorite foods without disregarding our health & to embrace the spirit that makes us foodies rather than to reject this spirit that drives us to crave and savor our food. Rather than denying those urges, I encourage you to truly appreciate what you eat with a constant focus on your physical and mental health. To remain healthy, slim and fit, have your cake and eat it too – but eat it in a mindful nourishing way for your mind and for your body too, not in a destructive numb way.
I invite you to read my books to learn how to eat the foods that you love in a healthy, nourishing way!
What inspires you to write?
The fact that smart people can’t keep their weight in a healthy range despite knowing what to do.
Tell us about your writing process.
I write when I feel inspired by my day to day work with my patients. If I notice a mindset or a behavioural feature that many people share, then I start writing to shed some scientific light on that issue. We all eat, so we all think we’re good at nutrition. But nutrition is a science, not personal opinions.
What advice would you give other writers?
Write every day. It becomes a part of you that you simply can’t live without.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to choose amazon (with extended distribution) because it is an easy whey for a Romanian writer to publish worldwide.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I don’t think about it. I’m focused on breast cancer nutrition now, so book publishing will have to self think about it.
