The book “HIIT: On High-Intensity Training and Its Effects” explains, the type of exercise that has been very popular for years. The fact that this particular type of exercise, which involve high-intensity loads, can be completed in very short times, provides a rapid increase in muscle mass, supports weight loss, and has surprising and very positive effects on health, is also considered to be quite entertaining, shows why it’s so popular.
HIIT has been selected as one of the 5 most popular exercise types in the US since 2014 and more than 30 books and many scientific articles have been written about it. Despite hundreds of internet articles written and many videos published, the fact that the narratives are superficial and seem insufficient to create an individual exercise program.
We -as two athletes who have completed undergraduate and graduate programs in sports sciences, have explained the details of HIIT, referenced scientific resources and figures via instances of different sports, and added 50+ exercise programs to be inspired and perform.
Throughout the book, we have included many topics to clarify the load and rest intervals as form the basis of exercise, how adaptations should be made, their effects on health, and how the stresses transform into a beneficial form for life. In addition, we have conveyed the details that an elite athlete should pay attention to in a way that the amateurs can apply in their exercise sessions and lives.
