What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I started writing when I realized there was a distinct lack of reality about the health industry being presented by politicians and the news media. I worked for years in the industry and knew the American people were not being told the truth about healthcare. I continued writing about the health industry rather late in life because I was waiting for someone else to spread the truth.
Book Sample
I remember a few years ago watching a game show on TV. While I don’t remember exactly what the game shows’ name was, a contestant could win a million dollars if they guessed which pretty girl on the stage was holding a pre-determined lucky number or something like that. One night a young lady was chosen to be the contestant with a chance to win a million dollars. She was bubbly and full of life, which is probably why they selected her to be the contestant. The host then proceeded to ask her a series of questions designed to peak the view’s interest so they would stay tuned through the advertisers’ commercials. Now, I never saw anyone win a million dollars on that show, which is probably why the show is no longer on the air. But when the contestant was asked, “What will you do if you win some money” her answer caught my attention. Her response was “I want to win some money so I can buy some health insurance and afford to have a baby.”
That contestant’s response really demonstrated for me how most people understand so little about their health. Was this contestant concerned about health? I came away from viewing this show, and hearing this contestant’s statement, thinking she was mostly concerned about having insurance to pay for her planned pregnancy.
