What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wrote “Eden” waaaay back in the early 2000s, and it originated from a dream (as most ideas do) where I found myself stranded in a remote part of the world. I had to fend for myself, which wasn’t so bad, but the worst part was feeling unsupported and having no one to reassure me that I was doing all right. This dream made me realise that people need other people, regardless of how introverted they may be.
This was the inspiration for “Eden”. The protagonist, Jenny, an astronaut, was also abandoned but this time she was stranded on a planet. She had no means of communication with Earth, no food, and no weapons. She was completely alone—until she discovered that she wasn’t.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The main two characters are Jenny and the alien Fly. Jenny was a little bit too dizty in the first draft, so I rewrote her more of a badass. Fly, the alien, is misunderstood at first. He's scary, but kinda sexy too.
