What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I've always loved reading sci fi and fantasy. My favorite series is the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and his rich writing inspired me to try my hand at epic fantasy. I also thought there weren't enough books written about winged horses, so I decided to write a series of my own to feature them plus many other animals.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My main character is modelled after someone I'd want to be, a strong female lead who's compassionate and only wants to save her siblings, not intending to try and save her country, also, but might actually do that. She gave up her own dreams of being a horse trainer to take care of her family after her mother died.
Since I love animals, especially dogs, cats, and horses (and not necessarily in that order), I wanted to feature a character who bonds to them where they work together in friendship. She also has a way of inspiring loyalty from those she meets and she's not even trying for that.
I hope my antagonists are the people you'll hate and that my protagonists are the ones you'll cheer for and want to know more about.
