What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was inspired to write this book because of my wish to improve upon it and tell a story about how my maternal and paternal grandmothers met and became friends, as well as some struggles they faced.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My main characters are based on my grandmothers and my maternal grandfather. My support characters are based upon stories that I was told growing up about some fictionalized events. Jerry, Myrtle, and Mrs. Parker are characters based on people in my community whom I hold dear.
