What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
A friend whom is an a successful, accomplished writer is the one who inspired and encouraged me to write and publish my book. I felt that no one would be interested in my experiences or even in what I had to say. But faith walked me through it and I decided to give it a try- after all, the worst thing would've been not trying.
Book Sample
One night, I was awoken by an unforeseen voice that spoke into my ears telling me to wake up. I opened my eyes and tried to focus on the darkness. I could hear heavy footsteps walking back and forth on the front porch. My oldest sister was already awake and saw me stir. “Can you hear that?” she whispered. I nodded yes. Ginger, who heard it before we did, jumped off the bed and start barking loudly at the noise. Through the curtain, we saw a shadow of a man’s figure pass back and forth, but no one was physically there. We knew no one was there because we could see through the slack of the curtain and the door frame window that no one was there even as the shadow passed. It was the shadow of a man who had a cowboy hat on. Scared, my sister called the neighbors, who called the police department, who came out to check the property. They did not find anyone in the vicinity and left after checking everything thoroughly. Soon after their departure, the footsteps would start up again and we did all we could to comfort each other and get Ginger to calm down until the footsteps stopped on their own without explanation.
