What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Write it and then let people see what you’ve done – don’t do what I did, which was to sit on my creation for literally years – it’s no use to anybody, least of all you, sitting on your hard disk…
Will Evans takes a long time to finish a book – that’s whether he’s reading it or writing it. And if it’s one he’s written, a long time means a long time, even after it’s finished. Being organised and proactive never has been a key skill.
He’s not really sure where the plot comes from but he is fairly sure that he has actually met most of the characters in real life – although names have been changed to protect the innocent and they have mostly been persuaded not to take themselves too seriously when committed to paper – that’s the real and the imaginary characters.
He’s also fairly freaked out about having to refer to himself in the third person, but I guess that’s just something he’s going to have to get over.What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
An interesting question, which I have never thought about in any great detail.
I’ve always had a fairly vivd imagination and do like a well turned out piece of prose, but no idea really why this particular story stuck!
