An average abusive childhood, a tendency towards depression. Annalee’s life could be normal. If only she could get rid of the dwarf.
Annalee doesn’t mind what people call her. After all, a name’s just a name. What she does mind, though, is the dwarf trying to wall her in. What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
People suffering of depression often describe their situation as being stuck behind a wall. For The Girl on the Red Pillow, this wall served as my inspiration. Who built it? Who keeps it intact? How can you get over, or maybe even demolish it? And why is it there in the first place? Does it have a purpose?
Half fantasy tale, half psychological exploration, this book attempts to answer these questions, to show the effects of drugs and abuse on a person, and to explain the workings of a depressed mind by fantastical means.
