How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
Practical hands on tips are the backbone of the books written in my genre. These books are tutorials and should be able to take the reader from his current place in the learning curve to the next step.

What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Even before you start writing, know about the market for the books in your genre. Have a strategy to reach the right audience.

Author Bio:
A. Ravi Shankar has been a television journalist and Producer of news and current affairs programmes for nearly two decades. He has not only worked as an active television journalist but also taught the subject at the post-graduate level. Covering stories of human interest has been his passion. He has travelled length and breadth of India covering issues that touch people from different walks of life. He is an MPhil in Journalism and Mass Communication and holds a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Cardiff, UK. Ravi has also produced Talk Shows, Breakfast Shows, News Bulletins and Directed Documentary films. Organisations he has worked include the BBC, CNBC, TV Today Network, Sahara, Eenadu TV and Eyewitness (Hindustan Times Television).

He has conducted numerous workshops for professionals on different aspects of Television and Media in India and abroad. These include workshops for Indian Information Service officers at the Film & Television Institute of India in Pune, professionals of Myanmar’s television channel MRTV 4 and employees of Maldives Broadcasting Corporation. His website on teaching television journalism to beginners at www.tvjournalist.net has student followers from all over the world. This site has remained on top when people search for ‘tv journalism’ in Google for some time now.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Budding Television Journalists and Citizen Journalists many times are present at the right place at the right time and are able to capture an important event. But without the required skill sets, their stories are weak and footage shaky. To make their stories better I wrote this book.
