How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
There is a lot more emphasis on the characters’ internal, psychological world, as opposed to descriptive world building (such as in the fantasy and science fiction genres, as an example).
That being said, I suppose good writers may feel free to bend the rules a little when it comes to storytelling, regardless of the genre.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Have clearly-defined goals and stay true to yourself.

The concept of “evil twins” has long fascinated me–so I started writing the book when some other elements of the storyline fell into place.
