What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I spent a week in New Orleans once many years ago and I fell in love with the place. There's this energy and heat about the city that's just intoxicating and it screamed hot summer romance to me, so I'd been looking for a way to incorporate it into my storytelling and this book along with the entire Rebel Girlz series was born.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I thought of proper southern girls doing what they're told like some of my favorite movies when I was a kid, except they don't do what they're told, they strike out to make careers and lives of their own, falling in love with men they're families would never have chose for them. Marilyn is the quintessential southern good girl and it hasn't made her happy so I decided she would step way outside of her comfort zone to make herself happy.
