What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was inspired by my work as a paralegal at a law firm. The story basically answers the question of how an attorney who happened to be a genius and 16 would cope with essentially being an adult so early. I thought it might give readers, teens who might be anxious to grow up, a glimpse into what it would be like to work in a law firm and be a lawyer, too, in an entertaining way.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I started working at a law firm when I was 27 as a paralegal, but in many ways I felt like I was still 16 so I relate to Melody. The other characters are composites of different people I’ve met.
