About William Seale J.R.:
I am twenty-four years old, just a young man with an endless passion for fantasy and storytelling. I grew up with dyslexia and while it made writing hard, it did not stop my love for storytelling. The thing one thing you need to know about me, is storytelling saved my life.
What inspires you to write?
Stories can pop into my mind from things as small as a picture or from a dream. Often, I don't know when or why a story comes to me, just that when it does, I know I need to write it and that it will come when I begin typing.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Christoper Paolini and J.R.R Tolkien. They had the most influence on both my love for stories and on seeing the magic in every aspect of storytelling.
Tell us about your writing process.
When I sit down to write a general direction is in my mind, but that's it. Normally I allow my fingers to take over, this leaves me just as surprised as everyone else when I see the final product. That being said, I can still make mistakes from this. I always re-read the chapters I write, allowing myself to edit the original creation so that I can fix anything I am not all the fond of. My writing process is a bit like sculpting, you get initial shape but sand it to perfection.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I become the character when I write from their prospective, their thoughts fill my mind, their fear, joy, etc. This allows me to create the most honest version of them in each page I write. But yes, I often find myself talking to myself, turning my brain off and listening to the words that come out.
What advice would you give other writers?
My advice is always this, you have a story in your mind, a story that is only yours. No one else can tell it, no one else can make it. You OWE it to yourself to finish it, even if it doesn't turn out successful. The way I see it, you are killing all of the mind children you have bouncing around in your brain if you do not allow them to be born onto paper.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Personally, my publication was mostly luck. I found a website that sent my request to multiple websites and my publisher quickly responded. After fancy legal stuff I was successful in brining my book to life, though there are many options.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think that if larger publications don't remove their walls that prevent authors from contacting them that self-publishing will be the future of all books.
What genres do you write?: Fantasy, Adventure, and Romance.
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
