About Sophie Patrick:
Sophie Patrick (pen name) is the author of Organic Housekeeping Made Easy and has several more books underway. She grew up in the UK but has settled in Canada with her husband and two young children. When she’s not writing she loves to read, paint and spend quality time with her family.
What inspires you to write?
My inspiration for my first book came from finding that there was a lack of straightforward information available on the topic. I wanted to provide other readers with access to well-written and easy-to-read information that I struggled to find anywhere else.
Tell us about your writing process.
I create my outline while researching my book and then get to work writing the content. The outline may change slightly during the writing process as the book takes shape.
What advice would you give other writers?
Start writing. The one thing that holds writers back the most is fear of putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), fear that they may not be happy with what they’ve written. Just start; if you don’t like it you can edit later; you can’t edit if there is nothing there.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Self-publishing just seemed like the right fit for me.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Although publishing is becoming more and more digitized I do feel that there will always be people who want to see and feel a real book.
What genres do you write?: Nonfiction, Lifestyle, Self-Help
What formats are your books in?: eBook
