About Safira X:
Hey, I’m Safira!
I’m a newly self-published author. I have a thing for dark fiction, thrillers, and adventure novels. You could say my writing is for those with an acquired taste…
If you like books that are filled with insanity and plot twists, then I'm the perfect fit for you!
What inspires you to write?
Usually the crazy things I watch on Netflix or YouTube. I might also hear about something wild in the media and get an idea from it. I just have a crazy imagination.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Suzanne Collins, Veronica Roth, and Angie Thomas are my favorites among others.
Tell us about your writing process.
I'm very seat of the pants. I do make set lists, though so everything stays intact and I don't forget anything. If necessary, I will use a character brainstorm, like I currently am for a story I plan to publish later in the summer.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Um, this a funny question lol. I guess to listen to them? If they're going to do something stupid, I'll probably be screaming "Stop!" in my head.
What advice would you give other writers?
Take your time. Don't edit until you finish the *whole* thing. Even if you feel like it doesn't make sense, just write it, then you can edit it later. Write something everyday, even if it's unrelated to your book.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I chose self-publishing because I like doing everything myself. I just don't like the idea of someone else owning something that's mine, even if it's just a portion. I'm proudly selfish like that lol. I would advise other new authors to choose self-publishing too, but *do your research and have the money for marketing beforehand*. Marketing. Is. Everything. Giving your work to a publisher is cool too, but just make sure you get a good deal, like "65%/35%" or something similar when it comes to your profits (you would be earning the 65%).
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Since self-publishing has been made so much easier by the internet, I think more authors will get their time to shine, which is great. This will diversify the book world with all kinds of new and different books that break the rules in the best way possible.
What genres do you write?: Paranormal, thriller, adventure, sci-fi, etc.
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
