About S. & E. Bohstrom:
Sam Bohstrom is a ancient historian and writer, whose historical articles features in some the biggest European and American popular historical magazines.
Sam was born in 1985 and grew up on the Swedish west coast. He obtained a Bachelor and Master degree in ancient history and classical archaeology at Gothenburg University and a second Master degree in Biblical History and archaeology at Tel Aviv University. Sam lives with his wife Esther in Israel where he is taking his doctors degree.
What inspires you to write?
I get inspired during my travels to historical places and reading about ancient cultures. Writing about the past ais a way for me to understand how ordinary people thought and lived during ancient times.
Tell us about your writing process.
I start off writing with a very basic frame work in my mind, such as the where the book is set, during what time period and with one or two main events that will fall upon the character. Then the story is created while writing. As I write I try to travel back to that day and age. Imagining the smell and scents of walking down the streets, peoples thoughts and behavior.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to self-publish on Amazon Kindle. My girlfriend had self-published some books on Amazon Kindle and I have to admit that she both encouraged me and influenced me to try this forum for spreading my book.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think e-books are the future and authors have to adapt to the new reality of the 21st century. Today there is a overflow of information and content online. The problem for the modern-day reader is therefore not to find new content but to be able to filter out good content from bad. I think it´s the authors responsibility to help the readers to find and guide them into quality content.
