About Robin Rowles:
Robin grew up in a small village in Urchfont, Wiltshire, in England.
As a young boy, Robin remembers a happy childhood with his parents and two elder brothers. He married his wife in May 1999.
Robin loves reading and writing books. He was inspired to write by his favourite author, Enid Blyton.
Robin was fifty-nine years old when he published his first children’s book in September 2013. It’s called: ‘Anne and Stan’s Magical Salt and Pepper Pot Adventures’. This book is a fantasy / fairy tale story. It was written to promote: friendship, harmony, imagination and opportunity for all.
Robin is now writing a new children’s series. It’s called: ‘The Fabulous Four Mystery Series’.
Robin’s favourite hobbies are: reading and writing, art and drawing, wildlife and nature, music, photography, comedy, travel and sport.
What inspires you to write?
Robin’s writing is a personal passion. As a young boy, he was always writing about something or other – if it sparked his imagination!
Robin was inspired to write by his favourite author, Enid Blyton.
Robin enjoys the sense of freedom and escapism when writing. He loves the opportunity to share his ideas and his imagination.
Tell us about your writing process.
Robin is always thinking about different ideas for his children’s books. He even keeps a special note book for this specific purpose!
When Robin starts a new book, he outlines the plot, his specific ideas, and the main purpose of his story. Then he decides on the best way to introduce his main characters. Then he builds his story by introducing additional characters.
In Robin’s new children’s mystery book series, he incorporates some interesting and unexpected twists and turns, into his story – because he knows that people love being surprised!
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
No! – Robin doesn’t talk or listen to his characters. However, his characters are alive in his mind. He loves creating and expressing their individual personalities.
What advice would you give other writers?
Keep reading and writing. Express yourself through your writing. Share your work with your family and friends. Feedback can be very beneficial. Always work hard and keep professional. Stay positive and always be nice and friendly with readers and fellow authors.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Robin decided that indie publishing was the best way forward. He publishes his books through Amazon Kindle. The world of digital publishing is growing very fast. Robin believes that Amazon Kindle is a really good platform for creating opportunities!
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The future of book publishing is very bright. Robin likes the digital form of publishing books. The growth in this market is out there for everyone to see. However, Robin believes that the printed book will be with us for a long time yet – so he always makes his books available in paperback! – ‘There’s nothing better than turning the page of a children’s picture book!’.
