What inspires you to write?
My Father is my first and ultimate inspiration to write. His seemingly limitless deft in the field of multilingual literature both actively and passively readied me to write. Additionally, diligently trying to keep up with both Utopian and Contemporary Fiction and Fantasy Giants Viz. Isaac Asimov, Dan Brown, Aldous Huxley, Douglas Adams, Etcetera. Reading widened my horizon and stream of thought and I rigorously took to writing essays, articles and stories and subsequently completed first novel entitled ‘Krikos: The Vertical Horizon’ at the age of 16.
Tell us about your writing process.
Nocturnalism is my primary fuel to writing. The silent isolated darkness of the nights channels my imagination and helps me reach generally secluded areas of my mind. I believe in never hindering my thought process, since being wrong won’t hinder prospective opportunities to be right. I try to think of objects which seem extremely foolish at first observation. In this close to ideal era, only foolish attempts can sometimes bring majestic novelty. I generally type, given to my poor handwriting, but also take to scribbling when away from digital devices. In every one out of five attempts, I achieve the product I wished for in the first place.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I hear my characters with hybrid dialects and accents from movies and television and then shape my character against any possible stereotype.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Published under Partridge India (A Penguin Random House Company).
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Option of Self-Publishing gives new and aspiring writers like me a chance to present our work to the world. Books are a means to drift into alternate Universes and glance indefinite number of stories around infinite of characters. Publishing a book and presenting it to the world is just as important as writing it down.
