About Renee Rose:
Renee Rose is a naughty author and kinkster who loves writing about hot alpha males, Dominance/submission and power exchanges. Named Eroticon USA’s Next Top Erotic Author in 2013, her books are all centered around kink. She also writes BDSM under the name Darling Adams.
What inspires you to write?
I write from my fantasies, which are all about dominant, alpha males, spanking, and submission.
Tell us about your writing process.
The characters usually start talking to me, showing me scenes, which I try to jot down. That becomes the outline of my plot. From there, I start writing and of course, I find things change along the way. Sometimes I get the wrong tone (the hero’s being too sweet, or there’s not enough conflict maintained during the book) and I have to scrap a scene and rewrite it with a different energy.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters definitely don’t stop talking until they’re sure their story has been told!
What advice would you give other writers?
Keep writing! Read the authors you admire, and most of all, just love your work. Bringing doubt to the process is the worst thing you can do to your book. Love it through and through– the characters, your writing, the plot. Your love for it will show through to the readers.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I discovered the genre of spanking fiction and I heard the angel’s bugles. I knew I’d found my calling!
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I’m so excited about the way ebooks have flattened the playing field. I expect it to continue to level out.
