What inspires you to write?
Life! I take inspiration from those around me, my experiences and generally getting out and living life.
Tell us about your writing process.
My writing process is forever changing. Having two young child has left me with a lot less time to write than I used to, but I still squeeze in my writing for at least a bit every day. I write in Scrivener so I can easily take all those random thoughts and writings and pull them together.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Yes, I need it quiet when I write so I can hear what my characters are telling me.
What advice would you give other writers?
Write every day. Doesn’t matter what you write, but write for the love of writing. Everything else comes once you can master consistent writing.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I was traditionally published a few times before turning to self-publishing a few years ago. I love the immediacy of self-publishing. I also really enjoy building my team of readers, editors and designers who all help me bring my books to life.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think people will always want to read great stories.
