What inspires you to write?
Life is a constant source of inspiration: its highs/lows, dark/light, humor/sadness. There is so much going on in your everyday existence if you just give yourself time to absorb it all.
Tell us about your writing process.
For my travel memoir I flew by the seat of my pants. It was a day to day journal to get me out of a lonely dark place in Italy, believe it or not.
What I found in that place and time was my writing soul again. It had been buried. Now that it’s out…look out. I am plotting and outlining two books ahead.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I’m a writer – I always talk to the voices in my head. I have had many of their conversations.
What advice would you give other writers?
Seriously, don’t give up your day job. I can’t say that enough. Very few of us are lucky to make a living selling books. You have to write because you need to, because you can’t live your life without writing.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Self publish is the only way for me. I live in the moment and it has always served me well. I cannot wait for an agent or publisher to decide y future. On the other hand, if one of them wants to now join me for this crazy ride, they are welcome to come along.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think anything is game now – all rules are out the window.
What do you use?
What genres do you write?
memoir, fiction, mystery, thriller, crime
What formats are your books in?
Both eBook and Print
