Author Bio:
Fifteen years in the printing and marketing fields as type designer and editor. Currently retired/disabled, writing independent author books that are self-published.
What inspires you to write?
I’ve moved around quite a bit and had a variety of jobs. I have many places and situations to draw upon. I wouldn’t call it inspiration. Just another day at the office that happens to be my living room.
Tell us about your writing process.
I start out with a good idea and some characters, and then I let the characters lead the story along. I’m always surprised by the endings. I wouldn’t recommend this method unless you are secure in your skill.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
No. They’re fictitious.
What advice would you give other writers?
I wouldn’t presume to give advice to another writer. They need to be bold enough to own their own work as a writer.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
After 2 years of agent rejections, I felt that Amazon was making it easy to give it a go as a self-publisher. One agency ALMOST picked me up as a client, and that gave me the encouragement to go it alone.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Paper will be collectors’ items.
What do you use?
Beta Readers
What genres do you write?
Historical Fiction, Memoir, Boomer Lit, Ensemble Fiction, Humor
What formats are your books in?
