About Deonne Williams:
Deonne lives on the sandbar known as Florida. She is happily married to Rory and blissfully owned by a stunning mare named Kay Kay and a demanding over-familiar tuxedo cat named Ritz.
She loves fantasy, RPGs, Star Wars and Jimmy Buffet. She hopes to take readers on an epic fantasy journey and is currently neck-deep in Balahar writing her second book in the series.
What inspires you to write?
I have stories that pop into my head and demand to be written down.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
For some reason, my own recent personal reading has been more outside of fantasy than within it. Favorite authors are Jimmy Buffett, Carl Hiaasen, Mark Twain.
Tell us about your writing process.
Seat of the pants but I'm finding that is getting harder to do and keep up with real deadlines.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen mostly but sometimes I talk to them when I can't figure out what I am writing/they are doing next.
What advice would you give other writers?
Stick with it, believe in yourself and make a space/time that is for writing only.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I went the self publish route, mostly because that was what was affordable to me. Everyone who wants to tell a story and goes to the trouble of writing it down should be able to share that without bankruptcy or a serious streak of luck.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think that self publishing will become more and more popular.
What genres do you write?: Fantasy, Young Adult, Historical Fantasy, Medieval Fantasy, Mythology
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
