What inspires you to write?
I have a never-ending need to tell stories of my travels. My friends have always encouraged me to write about these adventures.
Tell us about your writing process.
I do detailed historical research in order to help build a detailed outline upon which I can hang the story narrative.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I challenge my characters and receive internal feedback on how they’d like to proceed.
What advice would you give other writers?
Dedicate a specific time and place to write (ideally, on a daily basis) and watch your creativity come to life.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I focused on military-related publishing houses and was fortunate enough to receive an offer.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Being 50-plus, I like to think that people will always want to hold a work in print. At the same time, if virtual world provides the opportunity for more people to read, then that’s a good thing.
