What inspires you to write?
Real historical events are usually my catalyst. Then I mangle them up and make something new.
Tell us about your writing process.
I eat breakfast/lunch/dinner then I sleep for half an hour and then I get up and go. This makes me feel energized and I tend to get words on the page.
I write and beginning, a middle and an end and then just go for it.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I pretend that I am them and see what they see and feel.
What advice would you give other writers?
Don’t be too fussy or think that your book will ever be perfect, if you do you’ll never publish it. The story is the most important thing. Never let a bad review put you off, in fact I don’t ever read any reviews, good or bad.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Never been one for asking someone if I can do something. I can publish whatever I want when I want. I like to try and buck the system and eventually talent will rise to the top. If I haven’t got any then I won’t. Can’t stand gatekeepers who make a living thinking that they know better. They don’t.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It will get saturated but the best stuff will still sell. The Internet marketers and get rich quick people will find the next thing and move on and let the real Authors write and sell quality.
