About Ariel Marie:
Ariel Marie is an author who loves the paranormal, action and hot steamy romance. She combines all three in each and every one of her stories. For as long as she can remember, she has loved vampires, shifters and every creature you can think of. This even rolls over into her favorite movies! She love a good action packed thriller! Throw a touch of the supernatural world in it and she’s hooked!
She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where she currently resides with her husband and three beautiful children.
What inspires you to write?
Every day life inspires me. I am a paranormal romance author and I draw my inspiration from my surroundings. For example, my book Princess was inspired by the route I take to work. I pass by the coroner’s office everyday on my way to and from work. I had a thought, what if a dead person just walked right of the morgue? And that’s how Princess was born!
Tell us about your writing process.
I would admit to being a outliner and fly by the seat of my pants! I’m old school and still use notebooks! I love when back to school time comes around! It means that I can buy notebooks for cheap. I will plot out the world, the family lines of characters so that I will know who is related to who. I may even outline a few things that I want or envisioned happening in the story. But once I begin writing, I let the story flow and tell itself.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen to my characters all the time. I think that is why I have a couple of series of books. My Dark Shadows series was only supposed to be one book! But after I wrote Princess, Toma, book 2, began to talk to me and before I knew it, the entire series wrote itself!
What advice would you give other writers?
Follow your dream and write what you love. When you write something that you are passionate about, it will flow and you will truly enjoy it.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
It took a lot of research. But I have began to see an increase in the indie world, be it, books, music to movies. A popular known rapper is very vocal on going indie and his story is very inspiring. If he can do it with his music, why can’t I do it with the books that I write?
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I believe that more authors are going to start pursing the indie publishing route. The author can control everything about their books and be able to be themselves when writing.
