About Ariel Benet Savant:
The journey to becoming an author began when I was working in the corporate world. I felt Corporate America had many restrictions, pressures, and aggravation, so I started writing short stories and creating mandala drawings in my spare time. I found that no matter how busy I was, I could find some moments of peace by doing this. After losing my job, I started to publish my work and several months later began writing full time. I’ve never looked back.
When I’m not writing, I enjoy spending time with my spouse, family, close friends, and our Yorkie. We are very passionate about helping people and are involved in a number of charitable organizations. We are fortunate to spend a lot of time in nature which is where I find inspiration to create mandala drawings and to write.
I enjoy reading good books especially thrillers and crime novels, listening to classical music, and hiking among the many trails near our home.
I have several new books coming out so feel free to subscribe to my mailing list on my author website. You will receive several bonuses, and information to get free previews of my upcoming publications.
What inspires you to write?
My mom has always been a major influence with my writing. When I worked in the corporate world she would encourage me to focus my creative side which she knew made me happy. As a child I used to read, write, and draw a lot, which was highly encouraged in my household. I found great relief and inner peace in meditation, cooking, hiking, and being in nature. These are some of the topics that I write most about.
Tell us about your writing process.
I start every book with an outline and I go from there filling in the blanks. I find this process makes everything much more streamlined and fast.
What advice would you give other writers?
My advice would be to work on your writing everyday. You can get a timer and leave the cell phone in the other room, turn off the television, and simply focus for 15-30 minutes, will make a world of difference. Your writing will improve over time.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
My husband is an amazing and incredibly supportive man who encouraged me to publish with a publisher. I was still working in the corporate world and he felt that route would be easier. I am very pleased with working with a small press publishing house.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think that there will be more self-published e-books which has transformed the book publishing industry.
