About Antonio Madrugada:
António Madrugada is a "Persona" to serve his writer vein.The name, based on his life struggles of when he was a teenager, in people dear to him and that he lost, and still loves. He is 30 years old, born in Caldas da Rainha on September 21, 1990. He graduated in Tourism Professional Course TIAT (Tourism Animation and Information Technician) from the Training Center of Santarém, Portugal.He loves to write poems and short stories.
He did Volunteer Service Program EVS, and traveled around the Balkans area.
This changes his life fir ever.
He lived 9 months in Romania as a European Volunteer.
He wrote some of his poems based on his experiences during that time.
Writes since 13 years.
A complex and difficult teenagewood inspired him to write some fiction stories, which he unfortunately left behind as he grew up, and because he wanted to grow up as a writer.
Each poem can have more than two or three meanings and sometimes mixed with a rebel, a heroic, a historical, a nostalgic and a patriotic self. Currently lives in Sofia.
He worked as a Portuguese Speaker and Sells Representative. In his free time, he writes poems and plays bass guitar.
He created a symphonic metal band call WIldlink.
He is currently writing two fiction stories.
What inspires you to write?
I am a fan of the little things that happen when no one dares to care. I love to travel and traveling to Portugal, Spain, France, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungry, Croatia, Bosnia and Italy, the places visited left the mark. A simple homeless person who is unique and sad can inspire me to write in a way and an weird pattern and behaviour can inspire me to write in different way. Dark, Light, hero and evil are common in all stories, but to me those paradoxes are the ones, in certain way, even a evil can save if we find the route of that evil and try to heal it.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
JRR Tolkien, King, Goodkind and CS Lewis.
Tell us about your writing process.
As I mentioned, the writing comes in weird way. I have urge to write about something, if the I listened a kind a whisper in my thoughts. I forgot the uncountable times I wanted so badly I need or I had that coursed need to write. Then, for my dismay, I forget it. Before having a phone, this would happen all the time.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I mourn for them if they are gone. I am their God, but I am a god that truly love them all and I am the one encourage them to take certain paths. They love and hate me.
What advice would you give other writers?
Never give up. the power of your work and words can change the course of this world. Allow your readers to laugh what laughed, cry what you cried and be a god when you failed to be one.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Been 13 with tons of dark thoughts living in village in the middle of nowhere, process all the bad deeds and make imaginary people that you are not a evil spirit. Write about that puts all in a different perspective.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Stories to allow readers to travel to my world, I am in.
