What inspires you to write?
I became a Writer because I loved telling stories about my family, friends, pets, vacation spots, and dreams I have had. Writing gives me a place where I can express myself and allow my experiences, emotions, and people space and become my story to tell. Writing helped me to heal from my parents’ divorce, the loss of my three pets Beth, Bailey, and Gracie, peer pressure, and bullying. Writing makes me feel at peace, relaxed, and happy. I want to share my story of toxic relationships, friendships, and being told that my passion for writing is not a real passion for helping others know that you’re not alone dealing with toxic love and friends and keeping striving what you’re passionate about. Why I write is because I have stories within me that I want to share with the world to make an impact on people’s lives.
Tell us about your writing process.
I start from an idea and build from that idea.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen and talk to my characters. I like to listen so I am understanding where they are coming from. I talk to my characters to bring out their personalities.
What advice would you give other writers?
I would start by building an audience on social media and look into doing press releases, getting on your local radio station, and have your college magazine to spotlight you. From there you can look into paid advertising.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I currently self-publish but I want to land a publisher to handle the harder aspects of marketing a book.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The future of book publishing will be digital. Our generation is instantaneous and people want to have everything at their finger tips. Downloading more books will be a thing of the future.
What genres do you write?: Young adult
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
