What inspires you to write?
I enjoy writing fictional stories about past experiences and cases I worked as a police officer and attorney.
Tell us about your writing process.
I begin with a sketch of the plot. Character outlines come next. Once done with these steps, I’ll write an outline on Word. The outline, more often than not, gets turned on its head or totally re-written.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I ask them a lot of questions.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I chose Black Opal Books because they were on the approved list for International Thriller Writers and now the Mystery Writers of America. They’re a boutique publisher which meant easy access to the editors.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
In my humble opinion, I see book publishing continuing with ebooks and, with the slow demise of brick-and-mortar bookstores, print-on-demand paperbacks.
