Back Cover Blurb:
Yay, free money and a life of leisure! Except… only if you never have children. Sure, a cute little version of you (but not yet so screwed up) sounds fun. But with AI robots taking more jobs, who can reject that “bargain” hoping to afford kids someday?
Stu Reigns does. He’s an idealistic AI programmer and part-time influencer. His demisexual ex-girlfriend, Roxy Zhang, nears perfecting electronic immortality. Add in billionaire banking rascals, and there’s no more certainty — not even “Death & Taxes.”
An old-money Southerner is buying Roxy’s company. This infuriates a sick, rival oligarch — who is about to be rightfully convicted of epic fraud. To escape to this digital eternal life, he compels Stu to steal it.
You’ll never guess all the twists, but maybe the reader peering over your shoulder will.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I love Sci-Fi/Comedy-Humor-Satire (e.g., Andy Weir, John Scalzi, Douglas Adams, et al.) and find issues of artificial intelligence, immortality, and UBI/“the end of work” fascinating.
While I recognize Ayn Rand’s ATLAS SHRUGGED is original and thought-provoking, I didn’t care for the political screeds crammed throughout. My book strives to be a satirical, progressive counterbalance. Though my nerdy tangents and dialectics are optional, using hyperlinks in the eBook and endnotes in the paperback (partially inspired by David Foster Wallace’s INFINITE JEST).
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Most of the characters are amalgams of famous figures made more complex by imbuing them with characteristics of my friends. For example, the MC (Stu Reigns) is an odd mix of Ryan Reynolds, Patton Oswalt, and Mark Zuckerberg if he never got rich. Roxy Zhang is a brilliant gray-ace demisexual who is like Steve Jobs meets an honorable version of the Theranos founder. Chuck Rosti is like a charismatic combo of Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and Tony Soprano. Maria Gutierrez is a driven, blue-collar activist fusing Kerry Washington, AOC, and Greta Thunberg with a better sense of humor. Gwendolyn Grantham is an underestimated, old-money, religious, conservative, Southern matriarch blending in Ted Turner and Tyler Perry’s big-picture style of thinking.
