What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Hurricane Frances visited Florida back in 2004 and Tropical Storm Fay came and didn’t want to leave in 2008. I always knew something would come out of her reign of stormy chaos. It was only a matter of time.
I started writing Hurricane Crimes on Christmas morning 2011. I had just finished reading a book set during a blizzard and pondered the fact that I had never been in a snow storm because I live in Florida, so the idea to write a story that really focuses on a hurricane immediately became my goal.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I didn’t want Hurricane Crimes to be your typical romance, so I created Donovan Goldwyn, a man with violet eyes, a sexy body, and suspicious mannerisms.
I listened to Adele’s album “21” and Alanis Morissette’s album “Jagged Little pill” on repeat while writing Hurricane Crimes. Both these ladies’ voices and words helped me to create the personality for my heroine, Beth Kennedy.
