What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I have a passion for writing books that involve forgiveness and redemption. This book let my characters experience forgiveness and redemption in unexpected ways and places. It has twists and turns that surprised these characters and I hope will delight my readers.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The two main characters let me explore two of my interests: people who grow up in group homes without known family and descendants of French Acadian people. The main female character is Lillie Childress, who grew up in group homes in Dallas, Texas. The main male character is Charles Chauvet. His ancestors are French Acadians who arrived in New Orleans on a ship in 1754. Charles’ grand-mere (grandmother) is the chronicler and protector of the Chauvet family history. She is an intriguing character in Her NOLA Man.
