Hannah Strong struggles to keep her marriage intact while dealing with her alcoholic father. Her marriage is on the verge of collapse and her father cannot stay sober. Both issues may impact her plan to attend the equestrian competition of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. This short story leads into a full-length novel that will be published in 2014.

Author Bio:
S.J. Matthews was born in Fort Worth, TX on May 29th, 1974. Her early fascination with horses continues to this day and inspires her writing. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in history, she moved to Houston and still lives there with her husband, son, a Boston Terrier named Max, and a Californian rabbit named Bugsy Malone.
Hannah Strong is a major character from my in-progress novel. Her backstory is every bit as interesting as the overall story and I wanted readers to get to know her before the novel comes out next year.
