What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
When writing the When Were & Howl books, Ali always seemed to have the most fun, so I decided she needed a series of her own. Picking characters I like makes the process of writing enjoyable.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I wanted to turn the genre on its head. There were SO many werewolf/vampire books and even when an author veered from the pattern, the animal chosen was always tough. I thought how funny it would be to have a weremouse and then I couldn’t resist making her best friend a wereraccoon who would get the little mouse into all kinds of trouble. As human characters, they follow the animal nature to a strong degree. Jen is quiet, but can sneak around a bit if she has to. Ali is bold and into everything.
Fate’s Dark Glass really focuses on Ali though. Jen is a visiting character and readers will just get a peek into her married life.
About the Author:
Writing has given Jeanette an outlet for her active imagination. Although writing takes up most of her spare time, she also loves reading, painting (watercolors & oils), and hiking. As a functioning member of society, Jeanette has never gotten into trouble and must live vicariously through her characters.
