I wanted an image that would reflect the bond the main character (Sharlee) has with the two things she is tron between: God and her boyfriend. Sharlee is holding the Bible close to her heart (literally) on the cover and she holds God close to her in the book as well. Her boyfriend Lukas is holding onto Sharlee but not making any contact with the Bible. The couple has a close relationship with each other, but only Sharlee has a close relationship with Christ, and this is what causes the conflict. I came across this image after searching for days and days. It was used in a Christian magazine that published an article on why young unmarried Christians are having sex. I contacted one of the magazine’s staff members and he graciously told me where I could find the image online. It was meant to be!
