Comments about cover design
The main character’s body is made of a nanotchnological central nervous system, and the rest built out of matter harvested from dead fish. (Only her dad, who lives in her brain, gets to call her ‘fish girl’, though.)
The stuff hanging from her hand here are a mix of fishing tackle, and cables. The hand itself is my cousin’s hand. She was good enough to model, as she happened by the house when I decided I wasn’t happy with my attempts at drawing a hand myself, or using the wooden art model’s hand. The sky in the back is a shot I took of the sky in my town!
This one really grabbed my eye — perhaps because of the silhouette against the blue? I really like it. The light affect is perfect too!

Nothing about the cover says scifi to me. It screams drama/memoirish book. Maybe a robot hand holding tackle. Or a circuit board dangling from the hook or something. It needs SOME kind of scifi element on the cover.
Yeah. that’s a good point.. an earlier draft had the hand shown in a circuit board texture, but it never really looked all that great like that.
