What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
When my two daughters were toddlers, they often ran out in the front yard to gaze at the moon and stars. One particular evening my oldest darling began crying out, "I want to grab it! I just wish I could hold it!" Delighted, I watched and began imagining what it would be like to fly to the moon and take hold of it like a ball. Since I've always had a fascination with constellations, as well, I developed a story about Clara flying to play a game of catch with the constellations come to life.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I created Clara as my protagonist in honor of my girls, who inspired the story. The name Clara means "bright," as a nod to the glow of the moon and stars in the story.
