“A stellar read for teens and adults, full of hilarious growing pains, tenderness, and a few surprises.” (Kirkus Reviews)
Mo is a teen boy just trying to survive high school in the mountain town of Boulder Creek, Washington. Boulder Creek is an isolated and mysterious place, proud of its reputation as the “Bigfoot Sighting Capital of the World.”
Mo falls in love with a girl named Prophecy who lives with a group that some call a commune and others call a cult. When she disappears, Mo must find the courage to face the monster that her family has become.
This heartwarming coming of age story chronicles the adolescence of one boy who must transform himself to save the girl of his dreams.
Targeted Age Group: Crossover Fiction with YA characters, but with adult appeal. Kirkus called it a “a stellar read for teens and adults” so really either/or.
Book Price: .99

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
I wanted to write Young Adult characters with adult problems i.e. a true coming-of-age story. This story is different in that it has a strong paranormal foundation, but none of the main characters have hidden powers. They’re regular kids trying to make their way in a difficult world, with a bit of help from the supernatural.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Read Stephen King’s “On Writing” and Strunk & White’s “The Elements of Style.” Use 3-act structure & spend a bunch of time thinking & outlining. Don’t just sit down and write “It was a dark and stormy night.” That’s how writer’s block happens.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The idea for this book started with former students who swear they had a Bigfoot encounter in Snohomish County, Washington. Boo Radley (hiding in shadows, watching, helpful, though feared) was my other inspiration for Chasing Prophecy.
About the Author:
The author wanted to write about teenagers transforming themselves to survive. The result is “Chasing Prophecy,” a story about love, loss, redemption, and monsters. Moser has always dreamed of writing a character like Boo Radley, which is how Bigfoot entered the picture.
The author holds a B.A. in bookish matters and a Master’s in the same. He lives in Seattle with his wife and eight year old son.
