What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was inspired to write Torn Lives for several reasons, but there is one vital factor which drove me to complete this book. And that is: I wanted to bring to life real issues which most people experience in life. We all experience pain, love, lost, passion, and trials and tribulations, but how we cope with those issues will determine our true inner strength.
As human beings some of us may believe we are the only ones experiencing the struggles of life, and we are alone. But we are not alone, believe me there is someone else experiencing their own pain. And surprisingly some of those individuals may be experiencing a similar struggle.
I do not believe that anyone's life is perfect, because there will always be some sort of heartache, but we have to learn from those experiences and situations, and try to grow and become a better person.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The characters tend to appear in my head, and I develop them by observing human behavior. I take mental notes and incorporate them with real life incidents. Sometimes I use the names of real people who I admire and I respect as individuals.

I cringed as she dragged the bowl across the glass surface of my vintage coffee table. Would she ever give up? "Patrick doesn't know me; he's just infatuated with a passing face. I'm too old to live in a fantasy world—and so are you."
Lenore huffed. "You don't believe in love at first sight anymore?"
I headed for the door. "Nope."
Lenore popped another nut in her mouth. "Oh, well, when you get a good whiff of Patrick, you'll know what love at first sight is."….
