How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
My books are humorous adventures and pure fiction so I have a wide canvas to paint my story. Since the main characters are men and women who died and returned in the bodies of dogs or cats, I can put them in some hilarious situations. I don’t have to worry about trying to make it too realistic, scary, or romantic which lifts a huge burden from me as a writer.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
My advice is simple…write about what you know and love.
I am what is sometimes called a GRITS or Girl Raised In The South! I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 30+ years and we have two grown children. We share our home with our four-legged child, Bentley the Basset Hound. Writing is my passion and I am so thankful to be able to share my stories through books and blogging. If I am can make someone smile and forget their troubles for a time, then I consider myself a success.
The inspiration for my second book was fueled by the great response I received from my readers. It seems people have fallen in love with my crazy ‘returned’ canines. Many of the letters assured me that readers enjoyed a feel-good story that didn’t include profanity and sex. This came as a welcome relief to me! Of course, my Basset Hound Bentley with his number 7 on his side remains my primary inspiration.
