Derek Khani is a multidisciplinary artist exploring his literary side.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The dot appears in many of his works. The dot symbolizes the fact that any artist must first put pen or paintbrush to paper (creating a dot) before stretching it out to create.
About the Author:
Derek Khani is an established multidisciplinary artist and educator, whose passion spans from hand drumming, painting, photography, theatre, to extraordinary up-cycled works of visual art.
Originally from the Seychelles Islands, Derek studied Fine Arts and Graphic Design in France and Germany, as well as Education at Sussex University in Brighton, England. Derek is fluent in four languages and is a trained Community mediator in context of reparative justice, as well as an experienced youth intervener.
He is passionate about life and people. He believes in nurturing the spirit, of children in particular, though creative artistic exploration and self-inquiry. He is an advocate of personal and academic development though visual literacy, music and the practice of mindfulness.
Derek lives with his family in beautiful Thunder Bay, Ontario.
