What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This is the 8th story in the Alex Wright series. At the time of the story, the nation continued to grapple with international terrorism. This is how Alex became involved.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My main character, Alex Wright, is how I envision a surfing real estate appraiser from Laguna Beach, California. In this book he is now 40 years old. With each story, new characters appear to further the plot. Hopefully the recurring people may even be characters you recognize from your own life.

It started with a phone call…
I grabbed the phone before the second ring. Hopefully it hadn’t awoken the twins or our nanny, Mrs. Sheldon. “Hello, who is this?”
“This is Lieutenant Davis with the Missoula Police Department. Am I speaking to Alex Wright?”
“Yes, but do you realize it is 5a.m. in California?” I said with just a touch of anger in my voice. I really didn’t like being awoken by telephone calls.
“I’m sorry sir, but we’re investigating a homicide, and I need to follow the few leads I have as quickly as possible,” the Lieutenant explained.
Homicide, that got my attention. I sat up on the edge of my bed and turned on the light. It wasn’t quite dawn yet. I could hear the crashing surf in the distance and the fog horn from South Laguna Beach.
“Homicide? Following leads? Why are you calling me? I don’t know anyone in Missoula. You’re in Montana, right?” I said.
“Yes sir, Missoula, Montana. We found your business card in the victim’s pocket and it had your home number written on the back. The young man has no identification or other obvious information. We’re running finger prints, but we haven’t made any connection yet.”
