A mysterious encounter on a dark highway sets two lonely people on a course of discovery.
Sara’s humdrum world is turned upside down when she meets a stranger who says he knows her from the past and that she’d disappeared without a trace twenty years ago. She’s bewildered and confused; why would someone play such a cruel prank on her?
Jack spent nearly two decades searching for her. But when he finally locates her, he is faced with a gut-wrenching discovery: Sara has absolutely no memory of him – or their life together.
Like a puzzle, Jack and Sara must piece back together the shreds of a life that was ripped apart. Their heartwarming story is one about loss, loneliness, and renewed love.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
It all started with a dream. In this dream I was coming down stairs, answering a knock at the door. Upon opening the door, there stood a man, middle aged, nice looking, with a strange, lost look on his face. I asked what he wanted, and all he said was, “I didn’t think you’d ever forget me.”
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Most of the time I “see” them in my mind’s eye. Other times I just create them out of nothing but vague ideas until they begin their journey through the story and show me who they really are.

The whistling wind stirred me awake. One glance toward the window told me it was a damp, gusty day and that Sara was gone. I listened for her in the bathroom but the only sound was the billowing outside. Bolting out of bed like a madman, I went to the patio doors thinking she was on the balcony, but they were still locked from the inside. I shot to the door and lunged out into the hall and moments later heard the music. Following the melody down to the exercise room, I found Sara taking a brisk walk on the treadmill. She glanced at me but continued singing along to the music. I stopped in the doorway, just watching her. My eyes moved down from her face, slowing taking in the view. A snug, black tank top clung to her upper body, accentuating each delectable morsel. Her arms were toned and tan. A tiny pair of shorts showed off her shapely legs. There were no flaws, wrinkles, or bulges that weren’t supposed to be there. She was perfect. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail and beads of perspiration glistened above her full lip, now in a wide grin. For some strange reason, this scene aroused me even more so than yesterday’s shower escapades.
I stepped into the room, grabbed my running shoes and put them on, hopped onto the other treadmill, and walked for several minutes to warm up before cranking up the speed. A hard run would do me good and maybe even get my mind off the fact that my wife still looked unbelievably sexy after all these years. Within minutes my mind cleared and all I thought about was putting one foot in front of the other.
Sara finished before me, sauntered over to the refrigerator, and grabbed two bottles of water. First setting one into my cup holder, she then took a long drink from her bottle, wiped her mouth, and sat down on the floor mat right in front of me. After a short break she took a deep breath, lay back and proceeded to do a slew of sit-ups. I had to run even faster to refrain from leaping into a swan dive right on top of her.
