Kimberly had assumed he was a man crushed and embittered by his war injuries. Instead, Antonio Da Costa was a sexy, playful man with an inviting smile and a boyish twinkle in his eyes. When she closed her eyes, she could see him standing in the doorway, wearing a yellow shirt tightly stretched across his shoulders and broad chest. She hoped he would come to the diner often.
Kimberly had lost her dream job in Manhattan and had taken a waitress job in Brooklyn. Antonio had lost his leg in Afghanistan and was looking into major rehab and finding his way back into civilian life. When they met, each one was going about the hard job of finding new pathways. Their love story was not an easy one, but it was sweet.

What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Dare to write about subjects you are passionate about. With regard to technique, never stare at a blank page. Just start writing. Begin the next writing session by editing the work done during your previous session. When the story is complete, make a style sheet and copy edit the manuscript according to the sheet. Engage a professional editor, if you can. At least, ask someone you know and trust to read the manuscript and suggest changes.
Author Bio:
I may have inherited my interest in storytelling from my father who could spin a good tale. Then came my degree in journalism and a lifelong career in many kinds of communication including writing and editing for private and public sector organizations. I love digital storytelling for people of all ages.
Writing this book was my way of paying tribute to wounded veterans and the people who love them.
