Diverse characters & events intertwine to make up the fabric that is Red, White & Blues. America & the Vietnam War, free love & drug use, and the brotherhood of an outlaw motorcycle club all lead to everlasting bonds. Mike & Lucas Blackhorse, Ojibwa brothers from Wisconsin, take radically different paths only to end up together. Morgan Stewart & John Clark step from the fields of Vietnam into the Souls of Liberty Motorcycle Club where their need for a brotherhood lifestyle is met. Sandy Porter, Julie Scott & Sarah Somerton are just three of the women who follow their free spirits to San Francisco. Through thirteen years of turbulence, sex & drugs, highs & lows one thing never waivers: true friendships only get stronger.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Born and raised in Southern California during the 1960’s and 70’s, I always had a feeling that I was born just a little too late. I longed to be just a little bit older so I could hang out with the cool teenagers and twenty-somethings in my neighborhood. I have also had a seemingly lifelong fascination and admiration for both the Vietnam War and outlaw motorcycle clubs. My imagination was strong, though, and it carried me along until I finally decided to write a story about those cool people. My novel, “Red, White & Blues” is a tribute to those turbulent and exciting times and the people who lived through them. And those that did not.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
It seems as if my characters have always been around, living inside of me. I know them better than I know a lot of my friends (or even family for that matter). I usually make extensive backgrounds and sometimes even family trees for my characters even though readers aren’t likely to see these. I am very interested in my characters so I like to know everything about them. I think my interest comes through in how I present them in my novel, making them believable.
About the Author:
I am a Southern California native with a great affinity and love for my home state. I did live in Georgia for three years, but while there thought of nothing but returning home. From a very early age, I was writing stories and was always excited by the possibilities a blank piece of paper and pencil provided.
