Poetic Justice is a murder mystery with a romantic twist. It’s set on a backdrop of characters ranging from a single mom, to high powered attorneys who are sure to draw you into their lives.
The new, ambitious prosecuting attorney John Martin can’t wait to sink his teeth into his first murder trial. Seemingly lucky for him, a murder victim’s body is found his first day on the job. Not so luckily for him, there’s a tough judge and feisty defense attorney in his future.
When Homicide Detective Mark Stevens receives a phone call to report to a bloody crime scene, he has no idea how his life is about to change. He faces the normal challenges of solving a murder. Mark also faces the challenge of confronting his past. His past has closed his heart. He chooses to be alone. When his heart is opened, by an unlikely visitor, he finds himself having feelings for the murder victim’s sister. However, he’s determined to remain professional. Now that he’s found his heart, can love be far behind?

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My love for true crime and trial watching, along with the many great attorneys I’ve had the privilege to witness over the years.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I knew I had to have a detective and a murder victim. I started there, and the other characters came rolling in. Their lives intertwined and I mostly followed their lead.

Author Bio:
Lori loves animals, music, movies, and all things to do with the law.
She became a trial watcher even before CourTv. She still follows trials.
For her novel Poetic Justice, the Mystery/Legal Suspense genres seemed to be a perfect fit.
Her love for animals has been a constant throughout her life. She currently lives in New England with her two cats. Inspired by a recent documentary, she has become a voice for orca in captivity.
Note from the author: As I was writing Poetic Justice, my characters took on a life of their own. Their hearts led me to that touch of romance.
I looked forward to visiting my characters each time I wrote. I hope you enjoy visiting with them, too.
